The Heart of Life from the Tree

The Eight Rhythms of Life

Life from the Tree is shaped by eight foundational convictions. Together, they help us understand what it means to receive our life from God and follow Jesus in everyday life.

01

Life is received,
not achieved.

We do not manufacture the life of God through effort. We learn to receive what the Father freely gives.

02

Jesus is not merely our example. He is our life.

Following Jesus is more than imitation. The Christian life flows from participating in the life of Christ Himself.

03

The Bible tells one unified story centered on Christ.

Scripture is not a collection of disconnected lessons. From Genesis to Revelation, it tells one story that finds its fulfillment in Jesus.

04

The Kingdom of God is God’s invitation to live under His loving reign.

Jesus invites us into a different kind of life—a life shaped by the goodness, wisdom, and loving rule of God.

05

Christian formation is learning daily dependence upon the Father.

Spiritual maturity is not increasing independence. It is learning, day by day, to depend upon the Father as Jesus did.

06

The Holy Spirit forms Christ within us.

Transformation is ultimately the work of God. The Spirit patiently forms the character and life of Jesus within us.

07

Every day we are invited to choose life.

The choice of the two trees continues to confront us. Each day offers another opportunity to trust God and receive His life.

08 🌳

God’s desire has always been to form a people who live from the Tree of Life.

From creation to new creation, God is forming a people whose lives flow from His presence, His provision, and His life.

Every week, Life from the Tree explores one of these rhythms through Scripture, reflection, and practical Christian formation.

Why Life from the Tree Exists

We were never meant to manufacture life for ourselves.

From the beginning, humanity was created to receive life from God. Yet we continually find ourselves returning to the same ancient temptation—to define good and evil for ourselves, depend upon our own wisdom, and attempt to create life through our own effort.

Jesus invites us into another way.

Life from the Tree exists to help Christians rediscover the daily life of dependence that Jesus Himself lived: receiving from the Father, walking in the Spirit, living under the loving reign of God, and learning to choose life again and again.

It is not about achieving a more impressive Christian life. It is about learning to receive the life that is already ours in Christ.
